In response to the safety concerns of the pandemic, Brookfield is celebrating its grand opening with an innovative twist. Potential homebuyers can tour the entire property from the comfort and safety of their own car, while a pre-recorded radio message (available with all car AM/FM radios) plays on loop and guides them with details of what they are seeing throughout the 1,127-acre community.

“This event will be unlike anything we’ve ever done before, and frankly, I think people will really enjoy the convenience and ingenuity of the tour,” Brookfield Residential Arizona Division President, John Bradley said. “Months of planning and preparation have gone into the design of the event to ensure homebuyers get a complete picture of the community and its offerings.”

Opportunities to tour the model homes without appointment will also be available based on observing the safety guidelines established by each of the six Alamar builders, including Shea Homes, Gehan Homes, David Weekley, Taylor Morrison, Capital West and Landsea.

Alamar will feature a total 3,695 homes once all phases are complete. However, the first phase of development will include 461 homesites developed within 6 unique neighborhoods. Four distinct architectural styles of homes will provide a rich variety of architecture to promote individual character among the homes and add to the community’s overall street scene. Those styles include Craftsman/Bungalow, Spanish Colonial, Territorial Ranch and Traditional Southwest.

Brookfield has been working closely with the City of Avondale to align the master-planned community with the City’s desire to celebrate the natural beauty of the Sierra Estrella Mountains and provide a framework for community health and wellness. The focus on health and wellness will be realized through the design of family-friendly and multi-generational neighborhoods carefully orchestrated with dozens of trails, vast amounts of open space, and more than 30 half-acre neighborhood parks with playgrounds, picnic tables, and shaded ramadas.

In addition, the community will feature three larger, two- to three-acre community parks offering more recreational opportunities, like swimming, barbecuing, picnicking, and playing soccer, baseball or basketball – all enhanced by Alamar’s “WholeheARTedly Alamar” public art program, designed by Arizona’s most creative minds to connect neighbors and enrich the lives of those who call Alamar home. The outdoor public art will feature dynamic sculptures, pavement art and other museum-worthy installations that double as play spaces inspired by Alamar’s agrarian heritage and mountain-view setting.

A 41-acre Regional community park will be built in partnership with the City of Avondale to serve as the central hub of the community, and will feature a lake, playing fields, sports courts, and an amphitheater for live events, concerts, and seasonal festivals. Extending beyond the community park, a number of mixed-use elements will provide a further sense of community and connection as neighbors run errands, shop and mingle close to home. Brookfield has also donated a 21-acre elementary school site to Avondale’s Littleton Elementary School District to build a best-in-class K-8 school with an enhanced curriculum.
